The earliest reference to this estate dates back to 1739 and is mentioned in the records of the Notary João Grangeiro, of Angra do Heroísmo.

The estate, which has belonged to the family of the present owners since 1872, is situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Terceira, Azores, only five minutes drive from the historic center of Angra do Heroísmo which is considered to be World Heritage by UNESCO.
